Hypnotherapy In Worcestershire & Online
Hypnotherapy can be a very powerful way to help you get more of what you do want and less of what you don’t want. It’s a relaxing and safe process that most clients find quite enjoyable. It involves being placed into a light, medium or deep trance that allows us to work with your unconscious mind to create and suggest new outcomes for you, for example reducing anxiety, feeling more confident etc.
Not all hypnosis is done with your eyes shut. In fact, the majority of treatments are done with your eyes fully open and it appears as if you are just having a conversation. You hear everything during a trance and are always in control.
Your unconscious mind is considered to be the most amazing computer known to mankind. It’s the part of your mind where automatic habits, beliefs and behaviours are located and most of what we do is automatic.
Your unconscious has many roles such as storing your memories and guiding your beliefs (good or bad!). You use your unconscious mind for everyday skills such as driving & talking.
Trying to consciously change our behaviour can be very hard. You cannot consciously control your unconscious mind. If you do not want to be anxious before attending a social event, for example, you tend to focus on ‘not being anxious’, which makes you think of being anxious, and so you then naturally start to feel anxious. Clinical Hypnotherapy can help you stop that by working directly with your unconscious mind.
There are two kind of Clinical Hypnotherapy:
- Conversational hypnotherapy – This is where change take place by using hypnotic language, which doesn’t require formal trance.
- Trance based hypnotherapy – This is where clients experience a light / medium / deep trance. Different trances are used for different treatments
Both are used to communicate directly with your unconscious mind in order to help you get the outcome you want. Being in a trance is very relaxing & feels similar to daydreaming.
Hypnotherapy can help you with many aspects in your life. The vast majority of my clients only require a few sessions. As such, it can be very rapid compared to other therapies. Online hypnotherapy achieves exactly the same outcomes as face to face therapy. There are different areas of your life that you may want some help with and below are some typical examples:
Managing the impact of traumatic or painful events –
Hypnotherapy can help to neutralise the impact of painful events and trauma. You will still remember what happened, but the intense emotion attached to that memory will be greatly diminished. Hypnotherapy allows you to very gently process your past.
Skills & capabilities -
Some clients want to know how to feel differently in certain situations, for example be more confident in social situations, or at work.
Bad Habits –
For a bad habit such as smoking or procrastination, we can ensure you unconsciously stop the habit and learn to do something entirely different.
Other Issues -
Hypnotherapy is also very effective at helping with many common problems that many of us struggle with including:
- Helping remove driving test nerves so you can pass your test and get driving and open up your world!
- Removing exam anxiety so you can allow your knowledge and hard work to shine in tests so you get the best results possible to advance your career prospects.
- Eradicating common fears like fear of dogs, spiders, flying and visiting the dentist!
Beliefs -
Beliefs are often the reason underlying your problems and issues. Some clients may have beliefs stemming from their values which leads to them believing that they need to be ‘x’ or ‘y’ to achieve that value, “if I am a good boy then I will be loved”. Some beliefs can be negative and stop you getting what you want in life, e.g. “I am not good enough” or “I am not worthy” or some can be contradictory, “part of me wants this, part of me wants that”.
Making sure all areas are aligned is the difference between good and less effective therapy. So matching your beliefs to the outcomes you truly want is crucial to your success and future happiness. Removing the beliefs that stop you achieving the outcomes you want and installing new ones that allow you to do so are what makes the difference.
As well as Clinical Hypnotherapy, I use a number of other tools and techniques such as NLP and Mindset Coaching when working with clients. Please be aware that whilst I always give you 100% effort and skill, we cannot guarantee a success. In fact, I always suggest running a mile from therapists offering such a guarantee!
